Walked into what was announced as a spontaneous team lunch. Except everyone else was already seated, already ordered, already deep into conversation like this had been planned for a while. Which, it turned out, it had. Three whole weeks, in fact.
There was a group chat. A fully functioning, three-week-old planning thread where the whole thing had been coordinated. I simply wasn't in it. Nobody had added me, and apparently nobody noticed the gap either.
I only found out because I asked, mid-lunch, mildly confused, why I hadn't seen any of this coming. No dramatic reason, just an oversight nobody caught until it was already sitting right in front of me.
