Security let her in manually, each and every time, for an entire week straight, without ever seeming to escalate the actual issue. She reported it four separate times. Each report got a polite acknowledgment and then, apparently, quietly vanished into whatever system was supposed to be tracking it. On day eight, it fixed itself. d/Office • Follow post Save Hide Report Project renamed 4 times in 8 months, team never consulted Four renames. Eight months. Not one of them involved asking anyone actually working on the project. Each new name just arrived, fully formed, from somewhere above, and we found out along with everyone else. Every rename came with the full ceremonial package too. A new logo, a fresh Slack channel, an announcement post. Meanwhile the actual work underneath stayed completely identical through all four versions. At this point we've stopped updating our own internal documentation entirely. Why bother, when the name hasn't held still long enough to be worth writing... 1 0 Share

Except everyone else was already seated, already ordered, already deep into conversation like this had been planned for a while. Which, it turned out, it had. Three whole weeks, in fact. There was a group chat. A fully functioning, three-week-old planning thread where the whole thing had been coordinated. I simply wasn't in it. That's how long he's sat at what was originally called a "temporary" desk right next to the printer, placed there in the interim while the seating chart got sorted out properly. It never got sorted out. He's asked three separate times about it. Each time, the same response: "we're working on it." Nothing has moved since. Not the desk, not the chart, not the temporary label attached to a distinctly permanent situation. He's made peace with the printer noise by now, mostly.
