My date asked me to venmo her for the perfume she wore After our date she texted saying she had a great time. Then another message arrived. She said she had worn an expensive perfume “specifically for me” and asked if I could send her $15 toward it. I genuinely thought it was a joke. She sent her payment request. With the note: “Date prep expenses.” I paid for dinner and drinks. Apparently I also needed to cover fragrance depreciation 😭

She invited me over and her parents interviewed me for an hour We had been talking for about two weeks. She invited me to her place for dinner and said it would be “super casual.” I arrive. My date called her ex to settle an argument we were having We were talking about whether a certain movie was overrated. Nothing serious. She disagreed with me, pulled out her phone, and said, “I know who can settle this.” Then she called her ex-boyfriend. On speaker. At 10:30 at night. He answered and immediately said, “What now?” That told me everything I needed to know 😭 They argued for five minutes while I sat there eating fries. Somehow I became the third wheel on my own date.

She asked me to pretend we were engaged for a free dessert Second date at a nice restaurant. Halfway through dinner she whispers, “Just go with it.” Before I can ask what she means, she tells the waiter we just got engaged. The waiter gets excited and congratulates us. Ten minutes later they bring out a free dessert with a little candle. She takes photos, posts the dessert, and eats half of it like this is completely normal. I asked why she did that. She said, “Free cake is free cake.” Can't even argue with the economics, but I was apparently engaged...

My date asked the waiter if there were any richer men in the restaurant This sounds fake, but I genuinely watched it happen. She had already made a few jokes about wanting a “retired by 35” lifestyle. Then while I was in the bathroom, apparently she asked our waiter if any celebrities or wealthy businessmen came there regularly. The waiter told me later because he thought we were friends. I asked her about it and she said: “I'm just networking.” On a date. With me sitting there. The confidence was almost inspirational 😭
