Back in 2021, my college roommate and I were convinced we'd found the future.
Made a WhatsApp group, added a few friends, picked a rocket ship as the icon, spent months sharing charts and screenshots that all ended with "we're early."
Then the market changed. One by one, the excitement disappeared. Not the members though — nobody's left, nobody even bothers changing the icon.
It's still sitting there with years of unread messages, like a little museum of bad decisions. We're both down more than 70%.
Sometimes I open the chat just to scroll through old conversations. Amazing how confident two complete strangers, and apparently we were, could sound back then.
