My farewell party was supposed to be one of those moments you remember for the right reasons.
There was cake, a speech from my manager, the usual jokes about staying in touch.
Then my phone buzzed. Notification from Bitbns. Margin ratio. Not good.
Quietly stepped out while everyone assumed I needed a minute because I was emotional about leaving. Technically not wrong, just wasn't emotional about the job.
Spent the next few minutes watching an ETH futures position fall apart. When I walked back in, people smiled, patted me on the shoulder, "Take care yaar, we'll miss you."
Meanwhile all I could think was that my severance wasn't the biggest number that disappeared that afternoon.
