It wasn't stealing, exactly. But it wasn't what he trusted me with either. While he was in there, I convinced myself I could grow his money faster than those boring SIPs ever would. So I moved a chunk of his retirement fund into F&O, fully certain I'd have it up before he even came home.

I lost 30% of it before he was discharged. His retirement money, the thing he'd spent his whole life building, down almost a third, in the span of a hospital stay.
