Back in 2017 there was this Telegram group, around 40,000 members. Nonstop "sure shot" calls, profit screenshots everywhere, that whole "guaranteed multibagger" energy. I fell for it completely. So much that I paid 15,000 to join their "VIP" tier, the one that supposedly gave you the premium calls.
One call came through, delivered with total confidence. And for the first two days the stock genuinely doubled. I felt like a genius. Told myself the VIP fee had already paid for itself and now it was just easy money from here.
Then within a week the stock crashed 60%. Straight down. And while retail was getting wrecked, the admin had presumably exited near the top long before. The rest of us were left holding the bag at the bottom.
Never saw a rupee of that 15,000 VIP fee again. And judging by the flood of messages afterward, most of the group got burned exactly the same way. An 8 lakh hit total. The most expensive lesson of my life: there's no such thing as a "sure shot" in this market. Whoever's guaranteeing you profits is usually the one selling to you.
