Village is around 15km from Bahraich, and during heavy monsoon the kutcha road connecting it to the highway becomes basically unusable for any kind of vehicle, two-wheeler or four. One night of continuous rain this year and half the road went underwater, bikes kept getting stuck in the mud everywhere along the stretch, some people just abandoned theirs and walked. School bus didn't come for three days straight cause it simply couldn't reach safely at all during that period, kids stayed home the whole time. For people in cities rain just means a bit of extra traffic on the way to work. For us out here it sometimes means getting entirely cut off from everything for days at a time, no deliveries, no proper transport.
