This is such a small thing but somehow it turned into a two-day debate.
My girlfriend asked what I wanted to do over the weekend. I said I wanted to stay home, order something good and watch a movie.
She said, “That's all you ever want to do.”
Not exactly true, but okay.
Then she said I need a real hobby because “ordering food and watching Netflix isn't a personality.”
Ouch. 😂
I asked what counts as a real hobby.
She said painting, trekking, dancing, reading, sports, photography etc.
Now here's my issue: I work 50+ hours some weeks. I commute. I handle normal adult life. Sometimes my genuine idea of happiness is trying a new biryani place and watching three episodes of something without speaking to anyone.
Why does leisure need to be productive?
She thinks I'm becoming boring. I think she has turned weekends into performance reviews.
We're not actually fighting-fighting, but I'm curious what others think. Do adults genuinely need “proper hobbies,” or is doing absolutely nothing a valid hobby at this point?
