Woke up to a Schwab notification and this quiet little voice in my own head that just went "you knew this was coming." leveraged into SMCI on margin two weeks ago, rode the run-up feeling completely untouchable, absolutely forgot that leverage cuts both ways with the exact same enthusiasm it pumps your gains.

so the stock rolls over, the margin call hits at like 2am, and I had to liquidate half the position at a loss just to cover the thing before market open. groggy, panicking, clicking sell on positions I swore I'd hold forever.

roommate asked what I was doing up. told him it was "just some rebalancing." it was not rebalancing. rebalancing implies a plan. this was the opposite of a plan working, in real time, at 2 in the morning, funded by money I did not have.

still holding the other half btw. couldn't tell you why
