After my first big trade profit, the first thing I did was buy my mother gold. It felt like the right way to mark it, turning a win into something real, something for someone I loved instead of just a number on a screen.

Then came the very next trade. And I lost almost exactly the same amount I'd made. The entire profit that had bought that gold, gone, wiped out in one go.

But I never took the gold back. Never sold it, never touched it, never tried to "recover" from it. It stayed with my mother, exactly where it belonged.

And now that gold has quietly become a reminder for me. Proof that profit is only real once you do something meaningful with it. Everything I don't lock in, the market can take right back. Ever since that trade, I've been learning to treat profit with respect, to actually honor a win instead of just feeding it straight into the next gamble. That one piece of gold taught me more than the loss did.
