Here’s what I mean by frugal eating:
I’m quite health-conscious, but whenever I say that, people assume I must be eating fancy foods—different types of yogurt, exotic fruits, and expensive “superfoods.”
In reality, my diet is very simple. I eat bananas, boiled eggs (without spices), plain wheat roti, and basic sabzi. My monthly food expense is around ₹4,500–₹5,000. I can’t even remember the last time I ate out—it’s probably been over a year.
My point is this: people always say you should eat healthy, and I completely agree. But if someone is buying ₹100+ yogurt while I’m eating curd that costs ₹30 for the same quantity, what’s the real difference in terms of health?
Of course, there’s a huge difference between processed junk and healthy food. But beyond that, is there really a meaningful difference between simple, home-style healthy food and the expensive “organic” or premium products heavily marketed today?
