2022 is when the humbling really landed. My wife runs a simple 5,000 monthly SIP. That's it. She opens the app maybe once a month, glances at it, closes it, moves on with her life.
Me? I check my F&O portfolio six times a day. Minimum. Charts, positions, expiry setups, the whole obsessive routine. Two years of what I proudly called "active management."
Her boring little SIP is comfortably up. And mine, after all that screen time and stress and "strategy," is sitting roughly exactly where it started. No real gain. Just flat, minus a mountain of hours I'm never getting back.
She spent almost no time and grew her money. I spent every spare minute and basically ran in place. Still trying to make peace with the fact that doing less won by a landslide.
