I'm 34 and my younger brother is 28. He recently switched jobs and now earns more than I do. He deserves it. He worked hard, made smart choices and has never once compared himself with me.

Still, when I heard his salary, I felt something uncomfortable. I started mentally comparing our careers and thinking about all the mistakes I made. I'm proud of him, but apparently pride and insecurity can exist at the same time, which makes me feel like a terrible brother.

Has anyone dealt with jealousy toward a sibling they genuinely love? How did you stop turning their success into evidence of your own failure?
