Sometimes I resist spending by putting the money into a recurring deposit instead

Every now and then, I feel the urge to buy things like a lipstick, a phone cover, or a pair of jeans I don’t really need. Sometimes I give in—but other times, I manage to resist by putting that money into a recurring deposit (RD) instead.

For example, if a lipstick costs ₹500 and I decide not to buy it, I transfer that ₹500 into my RD.

Over time, I’ve seen the amount grow, and it actually gives me more motivation to avoid unnecessary purchases. There’s something really satisfying about seeing that money build up in your account.
