My best friend keeps pitching "we should start a business together," and the sentiment is lovely. The follow-through, less so. In three months the idea has changed four separate times, and not one of them has progressed past a shared Notes app document.
The current idea is sustainable candles. Big vision, zero wax purchased.
Before that, in order: a meme page, a tiffin service, and something involving NFTs that neither of us has brought up since, by unspoken mutual agreement.
Each idea arrives with the same burst of excitement, a flurry of Notes app bullet points, maybe a logo concept, and then complete silence until the next one appears. The document is now a graveyard of abandoned ventures. At this rate our actual business is just generating ideas and immediately shelving them, and honestly we're very productive at it.
