Woke up unusually early one morning, just by chance, and saw an old man quietly watering the shared garden outside our building. Turns out it's my neighbor's grandfather, and he's apparently been doing this for years, long before I even moved in.
Every single morning, exactly 6am, rain or shine, no exceptions. Nobody asked him to. Nobody in the building even really talks about it or acknowledges it happens.
Thanked him properly once I found out, expecting maybe some story behind it. He just brushed it off completely, said "yeh toh routine hai, isme kya batana," like it was the most unremarkable thing in the world, and went right back to watering.
