While the NEET paper leak has dominated political headlines, another parliamentary issue remains unresolved in the background.
Congress MP K.C. Venugopal has submitted a breach-of-privilege notice against Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, alleging that statements made by the minister in Parliament during 2025 conflict with subsequent official records.
The notice refers to Rajnath Singh's earlier statement that no Indian soldiers were harmed during the operation in question. Later, however, the names of six soldiers were added to the National War Memorial, prompting the Opposition to question whether Parliament had been misled.
The privilege motion is still pending and awaits consideration under parliamentary procedures. No decision has yet been announced on whether it will be taken up for discussion.
For now, the issue has largely slipped out of the spotlight as the NEET controversy, nationwide protests, and the Monsoon Session's political confrontations continue to dominate the national conversation. But if Parliament turns its attention back to pending matters, the privilege notice could re-emerge as another flashpoint between the government and the Opposition.
