The dates are simple: July 20 to August 13, approved by President Murmu on Rijiju's recommendation. What's not simple is who's actually left in the Opposition benches by the time it starts. Twenty of TMC's 28 Lok Sabha MPs have rebelled to back the BJP, three more resigned their Rajya Sabha seats to join outright, seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs already crossed over earlier, and six Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs have joined Eknath Shinde's faction. Imran Masood's "the government is weak" line makes for a good soundbite, but the more interesting question walking into July 20 is whether there's still a coherent opposition left to hold that debate at all.
