Early Sunday, Iran's IRGC formally declared the Strait of Hormuz shut — the first such declaration of this phase of the conflict — after striking the Cyprus-flagged container ship GFS Galaxy for using what it called an "unauthorized route." One crew member is missing.
US Central Command denied the strait is actually closed and said it launched a third round of strikes overnight, hitting roughly 140 Iranian military targets. "Iran made a poor choice. Now they pay," Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted.
