Jaishankar's Muscat stop wasn't routine small talk. Indian seafarers had been stuck near the Strait of Hormuz during the recent US-Iran flare-up, and he specifically thanked Oman for stepping in.
On X, he said talks covered "trade, investments, connectivity, maritime, technology, defence and cyber & AI domains." Oman's FM Sayyid Badr Albusaidi replied in kind, calling it "an important discussion on intensive diplomacy to secure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz." This was the last leg of Jaishankar's four-nation Gulf tour, which also covered Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
