In college, I became close friends with a girl partly because I had a huge crush on her older brother. At first, I kept accepting invitations to her house just hoping to see him.
Nothing ever happened with the brother. He moved away and married someone else. But the girl and I remained friends for 14 years and she is now basically family. She thinks our friendship began because we instantly connected. We did eventually, but the original reason was much more embarrassing.
