As a child, I once saw my mother sitting on the bed counting small notes and coins before a school trip. I realized she didn't have enough money for the fee. When she noticed me, I immediately pretended I had entered the room looking for something else.

The next morning she gave me the full amount and told me to enjoy myself. I later learned she had borrowed it from a neighbor. I'm financially comfortable now, but I still struggle to spend money on vacations without guilt. Part of me remains that child watching his mother count coins.
